2021 Ambulatory Nursing care for Children Under the age of Five with Febrile Convulsions International Journal of Nursing and Medical Science (IJNMS
Background: Professional ambulatory care nursing is a complex, multifaceted specialty that encompasses independent and collaborative practice. Febrile seizures are fits or convulsions that occur in children and are triggered by fever. Aim: It aimed to assess Ambulatory Nursing Care for Children Under the age of Five with Febrile Convulsions. Design: Descriptive research design is used. Sample: A convenient sample used in this study. Sample size: 105 nurses. Setting: Study conducted at Menouf fever hospital, Met kalf fever hospital and Ashmon fever hospital. Two tools: 1stStructural interviewing questionnaire composed of two parts (demographic characteristics, ambulatory nurse knowledge about febrile convulsions), 2nd tool: observation check list of ambulatory nurse practice. Results: Regarding to ambulatory nurses knowledge about Febrile Convulsions revealed that Illustrated that 65% of nurses satisfactory knowledge, 35% of them unsatisfactory knowledge regarding febrile convulsions. Regarding to nurses total practice illustrated that 70% of nurses done practice, and 25.0% of them not done practice and 5% of them do not know. Conclusion: More than two thirds of nurses’ unsatisfactory knowledge about febrile convulsions. While one thirds of nurses’ unsatisfactory knowledge about febrile convulsions. While one thirds of them satisfactory knowledge about febrile convulsions . Recommendations: Continuous health education and training programs for the nurses about febrile convulsions.
