2026 Synthesis, Characterization, and Corrosion Inhibition Performance of a Novel Azo–Thiadiazole Compound: A Combined Experimental and DFT Study. Chemical Papers
This study reports the synthesis of a novel azo–thiadiazole compound and its structural characterization using various analytical techniques. The compound was evaluated as a corrosion inhibitor for metal surfaces through experimental methods. In addition, Density Functional Theory (DFT) calculations were performed to investigate its electronic properties and explain its corrosion inhibition mechanism. The experimental and theoretical results demonstrated that the synthesized compound exhibits effective corrosion inhibition performance, indicating its potential for protecting metals in corrosive environments.
